The Wes Paul Band Arrive at
Independent
Studios - North Cleveland
Wes noticed a fancy clothes shop and couldn't resist browsing - this
is the sort of place Elvis would have gotten his clothes. It was
called men of distinction...
The weather was hot and the sun was blazing down
from a clear sky - just like we like...
We were introduced to Chris the owner of
Independent - he truned out to be a real nice guy...

We decided to use the upstairs studio and Jason
started setting his drums up whilst we had a nice cold drink... Wes
had taken down a crate of coke and then sent out for some beers...

The rehearsal started with run through of the
tracks we were planning to run through at the recording session at
Sun Studios that is:
-
That's All Right
-
Folsom Prison
-
Stripes
-
Jackson
-
Blue Suede Shoes
-
Baby Let's Play House
-
Johnny B Goode
-
Roll Over Beethoven
-
Shakin All Over
We then went through a list of our standard
country stuff - such as:
-
Tonight The Bottle Let me Down
-
Fighting Side of Me
-
Working Man Blues
-
Branded Man
-
Streets of Baltimore
-
Okey From Muscogie
It was a great rehearsal and Chris gave us all
takes and individual tracks of instruments and vocals.
Now it was back to the apartment in a cab ($11.00
+ $4.00 tip).
We went back to the apartment and Bec and Wes Paul
decided to have a nap with the intention of going to Beale Street
later - however, they didn't wake up until 12:00 midnight. (One
comfy apartment) so back to sleep for the night...
Tommorow was to be a big day recording at Sun
Studio... We were also going sight seeing...
